The Local Government Act permits Council to create committees as it considers necessary, to deal with more specific topics in a detailed manner. Committee meetings allow Councillors to examine certain aspects of the functions Council provides at a more detailed level. The Committees make recommendations to the Council and if adopted become resolutions of the full Council. Council's current committees are listed below.
